Bergkamp missed a penalty and now he has a statue! Wenger lends support to under-fire Ozil after spot-kick fluff against Munich

Arsene Wenger says Mesut Ozil is still struggling to come to terms with his missed penalty in Arsenal's Champions League defeat against Bayern Munich.
The £42.5million signing came under fire for his lacklustre spot-kick, sluggish display and on-row pitch with team-mate Mathieu Flamini in Arsenal's 2-0 first-leg loss on Wednesday.
But while admitting Ozil isn't over the missed penalty, Wenger has backed the German to bounce back and likened his fluffed spot-kick to Dennis Bergkamp's penalty miss against Manchester United in the 1999 FA Cup semi-final replay which the Gunners lost.

'Certainly not', said Wenger when asked if Ozil was over the penalty.  'Forty-eight hours is a bit short. He has to respond. He apologised after the game.
'People aren't shocked by the penalty because everyone misses penalties, but maybe people are shocked by the way he approached it as he has a different style.
'Bergkamp missed one in 1999 and refused to take one ever again. He now has a statue.'
