Kompany limps out of training ahead of Man City's pivotal title clash with Liverpool after Richards collision

Manchester City's Vincent Kompany limped out of training on Saturday after a collision with team-mate Micah Richards, making him a serious doubt for the Premier League title showdown with Liverpool on Sunday.
The City captain, widely acknowledged to be one of the best defenders in Europe, looked to have injured his knee after landing awkwardly and his absence would be a huge blow for Manuel Pellegrini's team.
This is especially true given City are coming up against the Premier League's top scorers, with 90 goals, not to mention Liverpool's prolific strikeforce of Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge.

The Uruguayan has already notched 29 Premier League this season, while Sturridge has 20, and they'll fancy their chances of adding to that should Kompany miss tomorrow's clash.
Martin Demichelis would have been expected to line up alongside Kompany at the heart of the City defence. But should Kompany fail to recover, then either Joleon Lescott or Javi Garcia will most likely deputise.

The incident on the training ground looked innocuous as Kompany and Richards challenged for a high ball, but the Belgian international looked to land awkwardly and was said to let out a loud cry in pain.
His concerned team-mates were quick to rush to his aid as he clutched his left knee, with Yaya Toure helping the City captain up off the ground.
Samir Nasri then helped Kompany off the training ground.
Third-placed City are four points behind league leaders Liverpool with two games in hand. But were the Reds to win tomorrow, even victory in their two extra matches would still leave City a point behind Brendan Rodgers' men.
